SUMMARY:
Manages the Pharmacy's technology and information systems to include implementation of a new pharmacy computer system, project management for implementation of new technology and robotics for both inpatient and outpatient operations, system analysis and maintenance oversight of the Pharmacy's current Information System & other automation systems, such as Pyxis, AutoMed and PC hardware & software. The Pharmacy Technology Manager financial responsibilities include, monitoring/reconciling the daily-charge-posting for all pharmacy charges, monitoring CMS and DHR drug charge/reimbursement rules & regulations and driving necessary changes to the PharmNet drug file and Siemens CDM files, recommending technology capital equipment & maintenance needs, identifying and developing new revenue sources related to drug charging/reimbursement, and evaluating and implementing related expense reduction initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Must have three to five years of hospital pharmacy management experience and/or related experience to assure a meaningful understanding of all operational aspects of the pharmacy department including purchasing, inventory control, inpatient pharmacy operations, outpatient clinic drug use, outpatient prescription pharmacy operations, drug file structure and file maintenance, and patient profile databases for all pharmacy systems.
- Fully licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of Georgia, or eligible for licensure within 120 days through reciprocity or exam.
- Must be familiar with all aspects of Pharmacy Information System database maintenance, including familiarity with the management of Pyxis systems and information system management, in general.
- Demonstrate significant knowledge of all applicable systems as assigned and knowledge of database maintenance and control principles. Able to handle multiple assignments, work flexible hours and communicate with technical personnel, and end users in a positive manner.
