What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel General Manager position at Grand Adirondack Hotel?
Wright Investments is seeking a General Manager to oversee all departments at a limited service hotel. We are looking for an experienced candidate with excellent organizational skills. The General Manager will be tasked with working closely with all departments to ensure an amazing guest experience.
This position is bonus eligible.
Experience Requirements:
- 5 years experience in hotel management position as a General Manager. Experience with Marriott brand is preferred.
- Requires effective and professional verbal and written communication skills with guests, subordinates, vendors, and all hotel staff.
- Basic knowledge of general business operations – budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, staffing; and proven positive supervisory skills – leading, motivating, encouraging, training, coaching, evaluating.
- Requires availability on weekends and / or holidays, possible overtime, being on-call.
- Frequent client contact and consistently exhibit a high level of motivation and enthusiasm.
Job Tasks / Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Driving P&L performance, including, plan and budget attainment; maintains a top-line orientation while striving to meet targeted cost percentages (e.g. Cost of Sales, Payroll costs, etc.) and maximize operating income.
- Builds sales by focusing on operational excellence; understanding customer needs and desires; and working closely with corporate marketing on specific sales building programs.
- Ensure that essential daily accounting functions are performed (e.g. recording daily sales, deposit of daily receipts; reconciling cash balance, and ensuring electronic back-up procedures are in place and followed).
- Focused efforts on guest satisfaction.
- When necessary, may perform duties of any hotel position as needed.
