Under the supervision of the Police Sergeant, receives and processes all telephone calls to the police department. Takes calls for assistance and dispatches police units. Monitors radio networks to receive, relay, and transmit messages. Conducts record checks, maintains radio logs, and performs a wide range of routine clerical support activities for departmental personnel.
- Receives and processes all incoming telephone calls to the police department. Obtains essential information including type of emergency and location and dispatches police units as needed. Maintains radio and telephone logs.
- Monitors radio network to receive, relay, and transmit messages including requests for wreckers, ambulances, fire department, and other ancillary units as needed.

Maintains liquor license files / inspectionsCourt materialsTranscribes suspect / witness interview tapes in a timely manner.Readies criminal / non-criminal complaints for assignment to the detective bureau.Maintains patrol and detective bureau statistics.Maintains Fingerprint database using LiveScan.Maintains the criminal mugshot files.Maintains and operates standard office equipment including but not limited to typewriters, alarm systems, computers, transcribing equipment, recording system, copy machine, and fax machine.Monitors Senior Citizens call-in program. Education : Possess a High School diploma with telephone, typing, computer skills, and transcribing skills.
Experience : This is an entry-level classification with a one-year orientation period.

Other combinations of education and experience, which could provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job, should be considered.
