K-12 School Guidance Counselor
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate counselor to join our team at Grand Canyon USD. As a resident of the beautiful Grand Canyon National Park, you will have the opportunity to work with students enthusiastically and make a meaningful impact in their lives.
Duties include:
- Providing academic, social, personal, and crisis counseling
- Communicating with parents, school personnel, and community resources to enhance student performance and success
- Revising the course catalog and coordinating graduation and scholarship solicitation and assistance for students
- Coordinating state testing programs, including PSAT, ACT, SAT, and AP
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Principal, this position provides support services that facilitate the acquisition of academic, personal/social, and career competencies for constructive and meaningful participation in a complex and changing world.
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Department of Education school counselor endorsement certificate and current, valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Secondary school counseling/teaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of transcript evaluation and interpretation
- Knowledge of and experience in vocational and career planning
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic influences on students
- Knowledge of individual and group counseling techniques
- Computer literacy
- ELL and 504 experience highly encouraged
This is a full-time (144 days), four-day week position, beginning in mid-July 2025. Housing is available at a discounted rate, and benefits include employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance for full-time employees.
