Purpose within the Organization:
The purpose of this position is to play a role in Grand Canyon Beverage Company (GCBC)'s mission on campus by working as a Barista behind the coffee bar.
Responsibilities Related to Purpose:
Provides quality, made-to-order beverages for all customers in a timely manner while also following all health, safety and sanitation guidelines.
Ensures that exceptional customer service is given to all customers; constantly aware of customer needs and how to meet and exceed their expectations.
Follows operational policies and procedures given; this is including, but not limited to, policies for cash handling, drink making, etc.
Ensures that actions promote appropriate GCBC and Grand Canyon University (GCU) culture, values, and mission.
Helps to maintain a clean and organized environment alongside other GCBC team members.
Maintains a calm and appropriate character during periods of high volume/high stress and continues to uphold customer service standards during these times.
Anticipates shop needs and acts accordingly to ensure shop and customer needs are continually met.
Communicates all necessary information to Shift Leads and Managers.
Constantly contributes to a positive team environment.
Maintains regular and consistent attendance.

Qualifications:
GCU and GCBC.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
Ability to build and maintain relationships.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including but not limited to, early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays – up to 20 hours a week.
Ability to memorize and recall recipes in an extremely high-volume environment.
Ability to understand and carry out any instruction and ask for clarification if needed.
Always available to perform many different tasks within the shop in a timely manner during each shift.
Ability to learn and problem solve quickly.

Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
