Job Summary: As a Medical Record Specialist with Grand Island Clinic, you will play an integral role on the integrated clinic team. You will be responsible for receiving, sending, and managing various medical records responsibilities that are critical to the overall success of the team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process the establishment of new patients.
- Process chart audits to ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient information in medical records.
- Monitor, track and respond to requests for medical records from patients, healthcare providers, and other authorized parties while ensuring timely fulfillment; in collaboration with CIOX.
- Retrieve and file medical records as needed for patient care and administrative purposes.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of medical record reports for quality assurance and compliance purposes.
- Create and manage provider call schedules; to include city call schedules.
- Create and manage external lunch meeting schedules, drug reps, provider meetings etc.
- Manage billing statements for various medical records requests.
- Manage incoming switchboard calls.
- Various duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of related experience is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.
