Description

Position Summary/ Objective:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Manager, the Maintenance Tech I will be responsible for performing general maintenance duties, routine inspections and repairing faulty equipment or damaged structures. Associate will work independently or in a team under little to no supervision. This position relies on good judgment to perform the functions of the job.

 

Primary Essential Functions:

  • All associates are obligated to support and uphold the values, expectations, policies, and procedures of Grand Pacific Resorts as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of building systems and appliances including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, painting, appliance repair and HVAC.
  • Apply basic skills in two or more of the following trades: electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, floor care, and general appliance repair to ensure quality is maintained throughout the resort.
  • Perform routine service repairs, and preventative maintenance of all aspects, in individual units, common areas, grounds and community.
  • Complete guest-requested repairs and service within the required time frame.
  • Complete all assigned maintenance work on vacant units within GPR’s standards.
  • May participate in routine inspections (including QC, preventative maintenance, machinery, appliance, etc.).
  • Perform general maintenance and cleaning of common areas, maintenance shop, trash removal, and snow removal if applicable.
  • Report any maintenance concerns for repairs on units, and/or common areas to Supervisor and/or Manager.
  • Maintain and update all assigned service requests until assignments are completed and closed.
  • Demonstrate the appropriate and safe use of standard hand and power tools, equipment and machinery.
  • Comply with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment and GPR Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
  • Understand and follow safe work practices for all trades, including but not limited to: Lockout Tag-out, Confined Space Entry, use of hazardous chemicals, use of Personal Protective Equipment, Ladder Safety, and working from Elevated Surfaces.
  • Responsible for conducting all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Adhere to performance standards, company policies and procedures, as they relate to the department.

Qualifications


Education, Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate must be a detail oriented, thorough, and professional individual who consistently provides exemplary customer service to guests, owners, management and associates.

  • At least one year of related maintenance experience preferred.
  • Beginning level understanding or experience in two or more basic trades: electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, floor care, and/or appliance repair.
  • Working knowledge of appliances.
  • Competent skills regarding the operation of small hand and electrical tools, basic electrical, carpentry, painting and small machinery repair.
  • Basic computer skills (able to operate mobile device, PC).
  • Must be available for regular on-call work assignments/emergency calls, work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required.
  • Strong customer focus and customer service skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle if applicable. May require use of personal or company vehicle, or electrical cart.
  • Ability to travel to other regional locations for work, training, meetings and other work-related functions.  
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry (time share preferred).
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment.

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications Required:

  • Must be available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to successfully pass applicable auditions or skill testing, background check, physical examination and drug screening test.
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

 

Physical, Environmental & Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours.
  • Must also be able to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Clear vision (close, distant and depth perception) is needed for navigating office and all other buildings within the resort.
