What are the responsibilities and job description for the Athletic Trainer position at Grand River Health?
BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for planning, organizing, marketing, and performing sports medicine, rehabilitation, wellness, and fitness related services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execution of an Athletic Training Program in the local schools both at their home venues, and occasionally at their hosting venue.
- Treats and prevents athletic injuries by developing therapies to reduce pain and improve mobility under the direction of a physician.
- Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing.
- Responsibilities will be performed at Grand River Hospital District, schools, physician offices and other athletic venues.
- May perform sports medicine treatment with athletes of all ages.
- May oversee the work of student Athletic Trainers.
- Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program
- Completion of an internship in athletic training preferred
- Prefers proof of successfully passing the national certification exam administered by the national Athletic Trainer’s Association
- Requires current BLS (CPR) certification within first 3 months of employment and must maintain active status throughout GRHD employment.
- Previous working experience working in high school, colleges, professional teams, sports medicine or hospitals preferred
SALARY INFORMATION :
$26.87-$29.43 Dependent on Experience
Shift differentials may apply for eligible positions.
