What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialty Clinic Director position at Grand River Health?
BASIC FUNCTION: The Director of Grand River Specialty Clinic provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and administrative direction for the specialty clinics, including Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, Podiatry and other specialty services. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement. The Director is responsible for direction of the Clinic staff and operations, promotes a positive work environment and handles staff and patient concerns and questions promptly and professionally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops budgets and assures that the department is operating within budgetary goals.
- Develops and executes department projects and annual goals.
- Collaborates with other members of Leadership team to formulate and implement hospital district campaigns and projects.
- Assures adequate staff coverage through the development of staffing plans.
- Oversees interviews and selection of employees, onboarding process for new staff, and conducts annual performance evaluations with assigned personnel.
- Assists with development and execution of training for assigned staff for all required systems, applicable policies and procedures and duties.
- Facilitates additional training with staff when required.
- Uses discretion when handling sensitive issues and applies sound decision-making in resolving issues.
- Works in collaboration with Human Resources and Administrative Director to appropriately handle disciplinary action as necessary.
- Responsible for timekeeping record processing for assigned staff.
- Collaborates and communicates interdepartmentally with other GRHD departments and personnel to ensure excellent coordination of care.
- Conducts meetings with staff to ensure compliance with organization’s policies and standard practices and communicates changes with staff. Facilitates regular service huddles.
- Represents GRHD to community which may include community presentations and attendance at community events.
- Provides support to Administrative Director and assists with tasks and completion of special projects as assigned.
- Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 5 years’ experience as a practice manager preferred.
- 3 years’ supervisory experience required.
SALARY INFORMATION:
- $110,000 - $150,000 Dependent on experience may vary outside this range
- Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience
