What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kids Club Supervisor (Full-Time Seasonal) Winter 2024/25 position at GRAND TARGHEE RESORT LLC?
SUMMARY
This position assists the Youth Program Senior Manager (YPSM) and Youth Program Manager (YPM) with daily operations of Kid’s Club (Summer and Fall) while also acting as a functional key member of the Kid’s Club attendant team. The Kid’s Club Supervisor will lead by example, engaging and working with the kids in our program. In the absence of the Senior Manager and Manager, the Supervisor is expected to provide leadership with emergency protocols/situations, and maintain all child care licensing rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work closely with the YPSM and YPM to stay aware of facility needs.
- Organize creative activities, games, and arts and crafts for winter Kid’s Club that nurture development.
- Create an environment that encourages exploration and learning that parents and children trust.
- Keep calm in moments of stress.
- Always treat kids, parents, and staff with kindness and respect.
- Act as a functional member of the Kid’s Club staff; this means engaging with and spending time with kids.
- Lead by example on correct communication style and interactions with kids.
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of the children registered in youth programs.
- Communicate with the Senior Manager, parents, and coworkers regarding the activities of children.
- Provide input to the Senior Manager of overall quality of services and care provided in youth programs.
- Perform duties daily including but not limited to: feeding, changing of diapers, dressing and undressing children for skiing and/or outdoor play.
- Modeling positive reinforcement strategies with children.
- Monitor sleeping/resting children.
- Ensure all areas of the kid’s club facility are cleaned daily.
- Take reservations and perform cashiering duties.
- Follow the dress code.
- Maintain professionalism in all situations.
- Monitor inventory and inform the Senior Manager if supplies need to be ordered.
- Ensuring all opening and closing procedures are completed each day.
- Oversee lunch breaks.
- Maintains familiarity and awareness with state and federal environmental & health standards, OSHA regulations, child care laws and state licensing, staff ratios, and ensures compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY
- Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests at all times.
- Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
- Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to the immediate supervisor.
- Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort’s Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
- Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job does not have any direct reports.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Desire to work with toddlers and school aged children
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in early childhood education, child development or related field
- 1 years experience overseeing and implementing child and/or infant programming or a combination of education and experience.
- Must have a TB test or assessment performed
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must stay up to date of laws and legal issues involving childcare
- Maintains composure in high stress situations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Friendly and outgoing
- Respectful and patient
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must possess current child/infant CPR and First Aid certifications.
WORK SCHEDULE???
Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays. As the Kid’s Club Supervisor overseeing the operations, the schedule could be five - 8 hour days or four - 10 hour days a week. This can include weekends and holidays.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use manual dexterity to handle, feel, and operate vehicles, tools, and controls and reach with hands and arms. This individual is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and lift objects often up to 50 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate winter conditions, cold temperatures, summer conditions, wet conditions and warm temperatures.
