What are the responsibilities and job description for the Houseperson (FT) position at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa?
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for maintaining all linen rooms, supplying guests with requested amenities, and maintaining all common guest areas in complexes and assigned outside outlets
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Adhere to safety guidelines at all times
Exhibit great customer service to internal and external guests.
Keep all linen rooms properly supplied at all times
Pick up clean linen/terry from the laundry chute rooms as needed and deliver to proper areas
Place clean linen/terry neatly on shelved
Keep linen closets swept, mopped and neatly organized. Remove garbage daily.
Keep elevator rooms neat, organized, swept and cleaned.
Maintain guest elevators throughout the day removing fingerprints and dirt.
Maintain pop/vending machine rooms on the floors for dust and dirt.
Take recycling from the linen rooms down to the hskp office.
Report any engineering issues to the housekeeping office for immediate action.
Clean elevators, empty trash, clean window sills, dust light fixtures, dust registers and thermostat boxes
Pick up all trash from the Room Attendants
Deliver amenities to guests, upon request
Complete all assignments requested of you.
Adhere to proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook.
Maintain open line of communication with supervisor, fellow housekeepers, and all other departments
Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort. (Green mission statement, etc.)
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Housekeeping experience preferred.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. (An average of 20 miles has been walked on a daily basis in this position)
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ear pieces must be worn at all times so as to not interfere with our guests’ stay.
