What are the responsibilities and job description for the (Seasonal) Banquet Houseperson position at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa?
SUMMARY
Responsible for the set-up of all Banquet space; including, but not limited to, all set-up, break down and general condition of all indoor and outdoor meeting and Banquet facilities, and assistant to the Set-Up supervisor, Head Set-Up Supervisors, Banquet Assistant Managers, and Banquet Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook
Report to work on time, in uniform and with proper tools
Maintain open line of communication with supervisor
Flexible and long hours sometimes required
Complete all assignments requested of you
Availability to work On Call
Ensure the correct and timely set up of all Banquet Event Order functions
Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the banquet function space, pre-function space, and storage areas to include the carpet, walls, walks, doors, windows, heating/air conditioning units, etc.
Maintain the banquet storeroom in a neat and organized manner stocked with any and all appropriate supplies necessary for meetings or food service functions
Be familiar with fire exit and extinguisher location and follow all hotel safety rules
Breakdown after the completion of functions and ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored properly
Transport and store tables, chairs, and other equipment
Refresh meeting rooms as needed
Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Michigan driver’s license and be insurable under the Resort’s policy

Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Must have flexible work hours.

Native American Preference will apply. Must be able to pass a background investigation and an oral Drug Screen as a condition of employment. Must be able to work flexible hours and take on additional responsibilities when asked. Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality
