What are the responsibilities and job description for the (Seasonal) Spa Control position at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa?
SUMMARY
Responsible for understanding and communicating knowledge of all services and products provided by Spa Grand Traverse, as well as greeting and assisting all spa guests with the utmost professionalism. Assists guests with booking appointments, and with checking in and out of the spa during their visit. Helps keep the spa clean and organized at all times. Provides guests with memorable and exceptional spa experiences, and ensures that necessary par levels are maintained in all areas of spa inventories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project a professional attitude, demeanor and appearance at all times
High level of teamwork, interaction and communication with others in division and Resort
Handle multi-tasked functions at the same time, and work well under pressure without jeopardizing the quality of the guest experience
Handle cash transactions and maintain a cash bank at appropriate balance
Listen attentively to gather accurate information and use that information to enhance customer satisfaction
Process all spa reservations accurately and efficiently
Meet, greet and serve spa guests both on the phone and in person
Ensure a seamless check in and check out experience for all Spa guests and members
Maintain cleanliness of the Spa including spot cleaning and communicating jobs to housekeeping when necessary
Must be able to assist in all areas of the spa when needed
Must be willing to educate the guest in the area of health enhancement and wellness and sell related retail products
Know the name, purpose, benefit, procedure and cost of every product sold in the Spa
Report all guest/member complaints or suggestions immediately to Spa Management
Maintain assigned station and equipment in working order
Inventory supplies as needed
Order Alcohol beverages per guest needs and deliver them to the guest
Maintain good rapport with fellow employees & supervisors, and reflect positive attitude
Must follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Must be 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED
Two years of spa or administrative experience preferred
Computer literacy
Previous employment history has an emphasis on customer service and guest satisfaction
Hospitality experience
Cash register and cash handling experience
Multi-phone line experience helpful
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent phone skills and use of multi-line phone
Ability to multi-task
Excellent organization and communication skills
Must be well groomed and present a professional image
Excellent time management skills, ability to meet firm deadlines
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee is regularly required to talk or hear when communicating with spa guests, managers etc. Required to stand at a desk for long periods of time while handling administrative duties or answering calls. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS
Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Will handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure. Will be required to handle difficult situations with guests and members while remaining calm and professional.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
