Operations and Maintenance

Job Description

Conduct work to repair, operate and maintain open and piped laterals, open and piped drains, the canal, headgates, concrete structures, diversion dam, fences, gates, canal and lateral roadways, the weed removal facility, bridges, siphons, tunnels equipment and vehicles.

Conduct work to demolish obsolete headgates, pipes and structures.

Conduct work to excavate, set grades, set concrete forms, place rebar, pour concrete, finish concrete and backfill for the installation of new pipelines, headgates and structures.

Conduct work to grade and smooth lateral and canal roadways, spray, control, mow and burn weeds within the canal, lateral and drain corridor.

Assist with ice control operation on the canal and at the dam in the canyon during the cold winter months/as needed.

Effectively use and operate hand tools and power tools.

Effectively operate pickup trucks, single axle trucks, tandem axle trucks, trailer combinations, tractors, skid steers, backhoes, loaders, road graders, excavators and other equipment as required. Heavy equipment operation is not required for this job, but being familiar with said equipment will receive precedence. On the job training is an option for advancement.

Perform ordinary and routine service and maintenance on pickups, trucks, tractors, backhoes, loaders, road graders, excavators and other equipment as needed. Mechanical skills will receive precedence.

Keep work area neat and clean.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
