General Responsibilities
- Production area monitoring and testing for quality control of food products and packaging.
- Daily Production Line duties
- Perform quality checks throughout production runs as per provided specifications and contact the QA Technician or Quality Manager when issues arise.
- Follow outlined procedures to conduct quality control testing of hot fill products (jams, preserves, sauces, salsa) and inspect product being produced for any quality defects and document accurately.
· Monitor product to ensure the prevention of cross contamination.
· Collect appropriate samples and inspect to ensure quality criteria are met. Training is provided.
· Maintain work areas, documentation, and equipment in an organized fashion.
· Identify and communicate product integrity issues to appropriate personnel. Training is provided.
- Use equipment appropriately for sampling, weighing, metal detection, and temperature monitoring to provide assurances of accuracy and consistency.
- Able to provide accurate readings in a fast-paced environment.
· Work in effective, efficient, and safe manner at all times.
· Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Knowledge of food production, GMP, and previous quality experience desired but not required.
Qualifications
Required
· High School Diploma or equivalent or Associate’s Degree or higher.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Problem solving and critical thinking skills
Desired
· One or more years’ experience in food production, quality assurance, and/or food safety.
· Basic knowledge/skill of computers
Physical demands and requirements
- Ability to lift a minimum of up to 50 pounds.
- Hot working conditions and ability to stand for a duration of time to perform duties.
- Physical demands: Position requires frequent lifting, walking, reaching, standing, climbing, bending, wet flooring, working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to food grade chemicals and moderate noise levels.
