About the Role:
This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our sales team as a National Account Manager. You'll be responsible for managing our sales efforts in the retail channel, building strong relationships with key distribution partners, and driving growth in our largest accounts across the United States and Canada. You'll work closely with our outside sales representatives to achieve top-line results within the channel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth in the retail channel, including managing independent pet retailers and large accounts.
- Buid relationships with key distribution partners to ensure smooth logistics and supply chain management.
- Coordinate with our outside sales representatives to achieve top-line results within the channel.
- Identify opportunities for SKU expansion, promotions, and growth with retail stores.
- Develop and execute strategic account growth plans to support the relationship and exceed sales goals.
- Support outside sales representatives with education, business proposals, and training to enhance their performance.
- Monitor and analyze sales data, market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform business decisions and optimize sales performance.
- Proactively identify new opportunities to expand our market presence.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of sales management and development experience in the pet industry.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM and ability to develop and manage relationships with outside sales representatives.
- Excellent negotiation, organizational, and time management skills, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Relentlessly driven, self-motivated, and goal-oriented, with a passion for healthy nutrition and the pet industry.
- Ability to think critically and creatively, with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including nights and weekends.
- A valid driver's license and ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
