Financial Data Analyst

Position Overview: We are seeking a full-time financial data analyst to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for aggregating, analyzing, and reporting large data sets across various facets of the organization. You will work on claim data, operations data, provider visit details, payroll, financial data, and more. You will also collaborate with members of our data committee and support the ongoing development of our SQL code and Power BI reports. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a business-minded approach to data.

Job Title: Financial Data Analyst
Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000
Essential Functions and Duties:
Data Aggregation & Analysis:
Consolidate and analyze large data sets from multiple sources including claims, operations, provider visits, payroll, and financial data.
Develop insights and recommendations that support operational and strategic business decisions.
Technical Responsibilities:
Work with existing SQL code on our SQL Server, with an intermediate understanding of SQL statements and functions.
Understand and utilize database structures, tables, and connections.
Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of existing Power BI reports.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with the finance team, data committee, and various departments to understand reporting needs.
Present data findings and insights clearly to management and team members.
Provide training and support to staff on data-driven tools and reporting platforms as required.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement in current reporting processes and recommend enhancements.
Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in data analytics.
Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:
- Intermediate proficiency in SQL, including writing and interpreting SQL queries.
- Familiarity with SQL Server; experience with Microsoft SQL Management Studio is helpful
- Experience with Power BI is highly preferred; familiarity with Power Query is also a plus.
- Experience with Tableau is an added advantage but not required.
- Analytical & Business Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think about data strategically.
- A business-minded approach to analytics with an emphasis on translating data insights into business outcomes.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to present complex data in an understandable manner.
- Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Additional Requirements:
- This position is full-time and will be on-site in Taylorsville, UT.
- No direct personnel management responsibilities.
