We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong understanding of financial transactions, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and has a solid background in mortgage banking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in financial records.
- Track, reconcile, and resolve both simple and complex financial transactions.
- Prepare financial statements and reports for mortgage branch managers.
- Provide strategic insights and financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Identify and address discrepancies in financial records and transactions.
- Upload and post funded and sold transactions.
- Reconcile and monitor cash accounts to ensure proper balances.
- Complete month-end closing activities, including journal entries.
- Utilize Loan Vision Software and QuickBooks for financial tracking and reporting.
- Record first mortgage payments and manage new branch, loan officer, and vendor setups in Loan Vision.
- Reconcile loans, warehouse lines, prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets.
- Perform additional accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; expertise in GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in banking or mortgage industries.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets and accounting regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in mortgage banking, with knowledge of Loan Vision Software as a plus.
