Job Overview
The Workforce Development Training Coordinator (WDTC) identifies, develops, and markets workforce education trainings and programs which include DSP, CPR/First Aid, CRMA and other programs that meet the needs of local business partners. The WDTC will provide support to our employer partners, learners, and staff. This position will include curriculum development, facilitating training, and networking with stakeholders. It will also be responsible for sourcing, contacting, and working with content area experts in developing and running training. The WDTC will market the programs developed to Vocational rehab, workforce boards, locate new stakeholders, and other identify funding sources.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and maintain workforce development partnerships;
- Generate effective working relationships with employers;
- Recruit learners for program cycles and perform outreach to community and collaborating organizations;
- Develop and distribute program marketing materials to advertise program services;
- Gather, Analyze, and process program data;
- Create, and maintain an effective filing system to support programs and employer partnerships;
- Provide input to the Human Resources Director and make recommendations for improvements to programs and the department;
- Generate and maintain a training schedule in cooperation with internal training coordinators;
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, agency sponsored events and other work related meetings as needed
- Promote the training programs at workforce development events, the Career Center, high schools and community colleges;
- Prepare and deliver presentations to applicable individuals, organizations, and agencies with the local community;
- Write curricula for varus training programs and facilitate trainings using the curricula;
- Assist in training internal trainers on using curricula to facilitate external training;
- Recruit and develop employer relationships as mentors and program partners;
- Conduct focus groups with stakeholders to evaluate the training needs
- Instruct and facilitate training classes
- Assist with updating the state Learning Management System and tracking training compliance and completion
- Develop and design workforce development curricula geared towards specific transferable skills, ie. customer service within healthcare
- Maintain any and all certifications required to conduct trainings such as DSP, First Aid, Safety Care, Etc;
- Locate funding sources from both public and private organizations;
- Design and develop training programs and materials based on organizational requirements
- Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and seminars
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- 1 yr experience in networking (I.E. cold calling, promoting, or sales)
- 1 yr experience with training and workforce development.
- Strong local connections, and/or a willingness to develop local connections.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Active automobile insurance policy.
- Must have experience using computers and computer programs, be comfortable learning and applying new technology, competent in conducting research through internet search engines, etc.
- Proven experience in instructional design and content development
- Strong communication skills to present information clearly and effectively
- Experience in classroom facilitation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
