Job Summary
This position is for a Family Consumer Science (FACS) teacher at Olympus High School for the 2025-2026 school year. The teacher may be responsible for teaching:
Interior Design
Fashion Design Studio
Sports & Outdoor Sewing
Required Knowledge & Skills
Ability to maintain an orderly teaching lab that meets all safety requirements.
Knowledge of current industry certifications related to areas of instruction and ability to support students in gaining the skills needed to pass these certifications.
Willingness to lead a CTE Student Organization (FCCLA)
Ability and willingness to work with industry partners to align classroom instruction with the skill needs of employers
Ability and willingness to collaborate and work with other professionals in CTE Professional Learning Communities
Ability to use and implement approved curriculum maps
Ability to evaluate student academic progress through various formal and informal assessments
Ability to communicate student academic progress to parents through various formats
Ability and willingness to use technology to enhance student engagement
Ability to provide hands-on training and project-based learning that aligns with CTE pathways
Ability and willingness to implement proficiency-based grading
Ability to build a positive working relationship with students, school staff, administration business partners, parents and the community
Knowledge and experience using computers and software
Preferred
ESL Endorsement Preferred
Interest in supporting extra-curricular activities.
