- Oversee state and federal programs, plans, grant-writing, fiscal and programmatic compliance monitoring, and budgets including Utah School LAND Trust, Utah Teacher and Student Success Act (TSSA), Elementary and Secondary Education Act Programs including Title Ia
- Coordinate continuous school improvement efforts, including plans and implementation cycles for high school accreditation, Comprehensive School Improvement (CSI), Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI), Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI), Springboard, Elevate, other iterations created by USBE.
- Provide professional learning support to principals in areas of federal, state, and district programs including monthly professional learning events, followed by individual coaching.
- Conduct annual private school federal funding consultation for equitable services, providing support with private schools on operating Targeted Assistance Programs (including the direct supervision of teachers), overseeing private school professional learning plans for services under Title IIa.
- Oversee school Continual Improvement Plan development, completion, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with other departments in grant development.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested or required.
- Act as chair of Granite School District’s Institutional Review Board (IRB), reviewing, approving, and monitoring internal and external research requests.
- Act as Granite School District’s charter school authorizer for district sponsored charter organizations.
- Oversee administration of employee stipends under SB137.
- Oversee bonus program of Effective Teachers in High Poverty Schools, or any future iteration of teacher recognition programs.
- Oversee Community Council elections and rostering for Granite School District.
- Active member of the district S.A.L.T. Committee and supporting several boost schools
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience in the management of state and federal funding budgets preferred.
- Experience in research, evaluation, and analytics preferred.
- Experience with Excel (data analysis tools), Access, Power BI, and Tableau preferred.
- Understanding of organizational development theory and how strategy relates to organizational performance.
- Understanding of continuous improvement processes and practical applications in a preK-12 organization.
- Understanding of adult learning theory and effective professional learning practices.
- Understanding of the components and practices of The Granite Way.
- Understanding of Utah accountability performance measures.
- Working knowledge of Granite School District student assessment practices, platforms, and student data privacy policy.
- Working knowledge of Granite School District policies, rules, and procedures.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate well with staff and constituents of all levels, including classified and certified staff through verbal, written and interpersonal means.
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Hold a current and valid Utah administrative/supervisory license.
- At least three years of building head principal experience is required.
- Experience as a classroom teacher preferred.
- Experience as a Title One school principal preferred.
- Interacts with members of all employee groups, various district departments, the Utah State Board of Education, and other school districts and vendors.
- Supervises department employees (including educators in Title I private schools) as well as all others.
- Oversees and monitors Title I, LAND Trust, TSSA, CSI, ATSI, and department budgets.
- Typical office environment. Works independently while dealing with interruptions from employees with questions on retirement, evaluations, district policy, etc. Work requires attention to detail and accuracy. High demand for speed and accuracy in processing data.
- Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Ability to reach with hands and arms, use hands and fingers, handle or feel. Ability to talk or hear. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to focus. Physical demands require moving and lifting supplies, equipment, etc. up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Job Summary:
Provide leadership, coordination, and management of state and federal programs and resources, organizational development, and continuous improvement. The director’s major role will be to increase organizational effectiveness by providing support to schools in resource management and implementation of continuous improvement plans. The director works closely with their department, division, other division departments, and school principals to continually improve student achievement.
