SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Dishwasher is a critical part of the restaurant team, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and dining areas. This position ensures dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment are clean, organized, and ready for use, contributing to a smooth and efficient dining experience for our guests. The role may include assisting in basic food preparation and maintaining health code standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
- Ensure all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are cleaned and sanitized per property and health code standards.
- Operate and maintain dishwashing machinery, including loading and unloading dishes.
- Organize and store cleaned dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, kitchen floors, and trash disposal areas.
- Assist kitchen staff with cleaning and preparing food as needed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable internal policies, federal and state health and safety regulations.
- Promptly report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Kitchen Manager.
- Adhere to waste management protocols, including proper disposal of trash and recyclables.
- Work effectively with team members in a fast-paced environment to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
- Perform additional cleaning duties, such as washing walls, tables, and mopping floors.
- Assist in unloading and organizing kitchen inventory deliveries.
- Support other kitchen staff during peak times or special events.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is a plus but not required.
- Minimum 1 year of food handling experience and sanitation knowledge preferred.
