This position supports the External Affairs Department of Grant PUD with various communications, marketing, public outreach and administrative functions. General duties include but are not limited to: video editing, production, graphic design, photography, content creation for internal newsletters, website content review and editing, social media campaign management, video archiving and assisting the government affairs and records departments.

Job Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Performs high quality and professional day to day communications activities in support of the Public Affairs Department; demonstrates a strong proficiency in computer literacy and all Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and Power Point; as well as familiarity in Adobe Creative Suite software including, Premier, Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. understands the policies and procedures of the utility and acts in a manner that coincides with the utility’s strategic vision and standards.

Must have a demonstrated ability to write clearly in a concise and effective manner using correct English, grammar, spelling and punctuation; Have strong visual listening, comprehension and concentration abilities; have familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn), have a demonstrated ability to shoot, edit and produce videos using a video-editing software, such as Adobe Premier.

Operates efficiently and effectively in an office environment; understands how to work in a collaborative team environment; can work effectively in both an office environment under direct supervision and also in the field doing solitary work if needed; can communicate our corporate values effectively through personal conduct, in-person interactions and online.

Understand and adhere to compliance requirements for this position that may include laws, regulations, security guidelines, Grant PUD policies and procedures.

Actively participate in all aspects of our safety program, including but not limited to:

  • Following all safety policies and procedures;
  • Alerting supervisors and coworkers to unsafe or hazardous working conditions;
  • Reporting any safety incidents or close calls within 24 hours to your supervisor; and
  • Accepting feedback from supervisors and coworkers regarding your own safety performance.

Job Requirements

Educational Requirements

High School Diploma or GED. Must be pursing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree; must provide proof of at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average.

Knowledge And Skills

Knowledge of – organizational policies and procedures; department policies and procedures; computer programs; office environment; communications software and platforms, effective written language principles.

Skill in – operating a personal computer and general office equipment; typing and entering data with speed and accuracy; utilizing MS office products; organization and prioritization; interpersonal skills including clear and concise communication both in writing and verbally; photography and video recording and production.

Special Requirements

A valid State driver’s license with no restrictions is required. Occasional travel to other Utility locations required.

Physical Requirements

Majority of work is performed in a standard office setting.
