IT Asset Subject Matter Expert

Grant Leading Technology is seeking a candidate for IT Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The candidate will lead IT asset management, systems engineering, and the development of operations and maintenance (O&M) strategies for our government contracts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT infrastructure, lifecycle management, and process improvement to ensure efficient and cost-effective IT operations. This position will be remote, and the hours are 8 am to 5 pm EST.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and advise on the strategic operations of IT assets
- System assessment documentation, gap analysis, corrective action plans, “Get well” framework, planning documents and knowledge on how to develop and oversee an ecosystem of IT assets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement IT systems that meet client requirements.
- Provide technical oversight to ensure system reliability, scalability, and security.
- Develop and implement operations and maintenance strategies that optimize system performance, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with government standards.
- Oversee IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring milestones, budgets, and deadlines are met.
- Overseeing the development of Agile and Waterfall methodologies as appropriate.
- Act as the primary liaison between internal teams, government clients, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted IT service delivery.
- Maintain detailed documentation of IT assets, system configurations, and project progress. Generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Ten plus (10 ) years of experience in IT project management, asset management, and systems engineering, preferably within government contracting
- Knowledge of government IT regulations, cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA), and procurement processes.
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools and asset tracking systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven critical thinking and analytical skills
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must live in the United States and be willing to work East Coast hours
- Must be able to pass a background check
Preferred Skills:
- PMP, ITIL, or related certification is highly desirable
- Federal Government experience
