This role will be a critical member of the leadership team. Position:
The Senior Controller will be responsible for implementing and leading the financial control and accounting operations for the organization that has a high volume of activity. This is a broad role that will oversee all aspects of reporting, analysis, accounting operations, and special projects. Responsibilities include leading the monthly close process financial reporting, managing the annual external audit, AR/AP management, creating and improving reporting processes and cash management. In addition, this person will be involved in budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis. This Senior Controller will also lead and mentor a small team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA strongly preferred
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance role. Prior public accounting preferred.
- Experience in the media/music industry preferred. Prior exposure to royalty-based business models and distribution accounting.
- Solid financial aptitude and ability to evaluate existing processes and procedures to establish best practices.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Enjoy working in a fast-paced, informal, fluid environment with changing priorities
- Exemplary leadership, change management and communication skills. This person will not only be responsible for the management and development of the team but also have significant interaction with the Founders.
