The Risk Analytics Advisory is responsible for delivering all phases of analytics projects and engagement management for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries. The Risk Analytic team works with internal audit, enterprise risk, and compliance teams to develop innovative approaches and data analytics solutions. The Risk Analytics Experienced Associate will support the Risk Analytics team on strategic and tactical data and analytic efforts. This position involves quantitative analysis of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data using various programming techniques. The responsibilities would range from initial data scoping and ETL in the audit-planning phase through developing analytics to support strategic efforts and audit fieldwork. The type of analysis varies by project, but common types of analysis are fraud detection, historical modeling, outlier analysis, and data visualizations. The Risk Analytics Experienced Associate works closely with senior associates or managers and plays a key role in client management and practice development.
Your day-to-day may include:
- Develop work plans identifying relevant data sets, querying and analyzing data, interacting with clients, and implementing analytics using advanced analytics techniques.
- Work independently and with a team to solve problems involving complex and large data sets.
- Write SQL and Python applications and scripts.
- Create and explain complex analytic findings and techniques using both written and verbal reports.
- Design analytics in alignment with an audit plan and related data.
- Drive analytic activities that involve the identification of key risk indicators and outliers from an audit, risk, and compliance perspective.
- Execution on client engagement – Ensure quality delivery as per client requirements.
- Determine that the work delivered is of high quality through a self-review process for complete and accurate documentation of testing results and review others’ documentation according to regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with engagement plans and internal quality and risk management procedures of the firm.
- Anticipate and identify engagement related risks and escalate issues as appropriate on a timely basis.
- Identify and internally escalate potential red flags related to the engagement on a timely basis.
- Create, manage, and utilize high performance relational databases (e.g., MS SQL Server).
- Other duties as assigned.
You have the following technical skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Accounting and / or Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or Related Field of Study is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of related work experience.
- Programming language experience – SQL, R or Python.
- Data visualization expertise – Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Understanding of audit concepts and processes.
- Ability to design analytics in alignment with an audit plan and related data.
- Ability to drive analytic activities that involve the identification of key indicators and outliers from an audit, risk and compliance perspective.
- Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel on a regular basis to clients as required.
- Consistent with the firm’s hybrid work model, this position will require in-person attendance at least two days per week, either at a GT office or client site.
The base salary range for this position in Minnesota only is between $72,000 and $108,000.
