OVERVIEW:
The Program Assistant is responsible for ensuring a specific District program operates effectively and within District 7 guidelines. The Program Assistant works with limited to no teacher supervision and collaborates with District Administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
- Two years of post-secondary study.
- An Associate’s (or Higher) degree.
- A passing score on a state or local assessment that measures knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
- Field attendance related calls from parents
- Monitor attendance and make calls home to check on students
- Work to remove barriers to attendance and incentivize positive behavior
- Work with Attention to Attendance (A2A) system
- Help students review and problem solve.
- Data entry of all discipline and PBIS dispositions.
- Generate detention notice correspondence.
- Maintain and file all discipline records.
- Supervise students sent to the learning center for various reasons including behavior, time-out, suspension, lunch detention, and academic tutoring. Hold students accountable for a positive learning experience every minute the student is assigned to detention.
- Facilitate learning opportunities by coordinating with the student’s teachers necessary and appropriate class work or provide age-appropriate material that the student participates in.
- Supervise Structured Study classes
- Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish preferred.
Upon selection, employees will be required to pay for the following: $12.50 fingerprinting fee and $66 ODE fingerprinting processing fee.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- $16.15-$23.33 per hour. Dependent on approved accepted experience/education.
- Annual COLA pay increase (as negotiated with Oregon Association of Classified Employees)
- Annual step pay increase awarded to eligible employees
- 6 paid holidays per year

- Bereavement leave, as per bargaining agreement
- Continuing Education Funds, up to $1,000 per year
- Up to $1,522 per month district-paid contribution toward full-family medical, dental, and vision insurance
- $4,251 per year insurance opt-out stipend for employees who demonstrate other health insurance coverage under a qualifying employer sponsored group medical plan (more than 6-hour employees), $3,825.90 (4–6-hour employees)
- 6% employee paid contribution towards Oregon Public Employees Retirement System
- Longevity Service Stipend after 10 years of employment ($800-$1,400)
