Description:
PE Teachers plan and deliver lessons to students of various ages, focusing on developing physical fitness, motor skills, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle habits through a range of activities like sports, exercise routines, and games, while also assessing student progress and ensuring a safe learning environment.
Additional Responsibilities include:
- Design lesson plans that incorporate diverse physical activities, including individual, partner, and team sports, aligned with age-appropriate developmental goals.
- Teach proper techniques for various sports and exercises, demonstrating skills, and providing feedback to students of different abilities.
- Evaluate student performance through observation, participation, and skill demonstrations, providing feedback to improve their physical abilities
- Ensure a safe learning environment by enforcing safety rules, supervising students during activities, and addressing potential hazards
- Create a positive and fun learning environment to encourage participation and foster a love for physical activity
- Integrating health concepts like nutrition, hygiene, and stress management into PE lessons
- Regularly update parents on their child's progress and addressing any concerns
- Work with other teachers to integrate physical activity into the overall school curriculum
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS and hold and/or be eligible to receive a current TN teaching license in appropriate subject area.
