Position Description
Sales Manager
Reports to: CEO
Position Summary/Objective:
This position is responsible for the direction and management of all sales business development operations including:
  • Building and developing the sales team.
  • Implementing sales processes, accountability, and KPI measurements.
  • Managing and supporting the sales department throughout the sales process.
  • Managing and analyzing the data and forecast sales numbers to report to Graphic Village leadership and to monitor sales progress and growth.
  • Providing input to upper management on strategy and communicating the strategy to the sales team.
  • Integrating strategies and activities with the marketing team to provide a comprehensive message and unique selling proposition to the marketplace.
The goal is achieved by providing leadership toward the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with the company vision and values.

Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Ensure sales team development and effective workplace management
    • Create the strategy for the sales department to effectively meet all customer requirements while at the same time achieving Graphic Village’s revenue and profit goals.
    • Analyze, evaluate and increase the effectiveness of sales methods, processes, costs, and results.
    • Act as a liaison between management team and sales team. Drive strategic direction of the company to action with the sales team’s activities.
    • Coordinate the development of annual sales strategies and strategic account plans to penetrate new and existing customers.
    • Place a premium on professional development for the sales team including training for sales skills and product knowledge, coaching and mentoring.
    • Coach each sales representative to understand strengths, motivations, and competencies to ensure motivation and role fit.
    • Create, maintain and deliver performance evaluation and individual development plans for all sales team members.
    • Assist sales team in delivery of quotes, presentations and demos where necessary to close strategic deals.
    • Provide day-to-day workplace management of the Sales CRM integrity and project profitability.
    • Oversee all sales functions of Graphic Village to ensure high quality sales, service and delivery.
    • Ensure sales team is acting in accordance with Graphic Village’s mission, vision and values.
  • Provide input and execute the strategy for the sales department to effectively meet all customer requirements while at the same time achieve Graphic Village’s revenue and profit goals.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of the business strategy for the overall organization.
    • Oversee business development, including lead generation and execute the strategic direction to develop and ensure continued sales growth.
    • Implement sales strategy.
    • Serve as a conduit to provide information to management regarding new technological needs or capabilities.
    • Evaluate new product viability and marketability.
    • Provide input into how new products integrate into business model.
    • Maintain communication with customers and market as to new trends and products needed.
    • Develop forecasts, quotas, budgets, short term and long-range goals in support of business objectives.
    • Successfully forecast sales and pipeline by utilizing proper reporting from CRM system.
    • Regularly review win/loss data to determine trends in sales successes, why Graphic Village failed to be awarded business and where improvement can be made.
    • Assist in answering RFPs and maintaining the database of typical responses, past presentations and proposals.
  • Identify market trends to assist in Graphic Village’s overall marketing strategy.
    • Identify new product and service opportunities in Graphic Village’s market.
    • Feed information back to organization on market trends ascertained from customers and prospects.
    • Assist in the integration of the marketing plan into sales activity.
    • Maintain awareness of market conditions and competitor’s products and pricing.
    • Plan for, attend and follow up on appropriate conferences and networking events to generate leads.
  • Collaborate with Operations.
    • Develop, implement and manage accountability measures for the team to drive the right growth for the company including leading indicators of success.
    • Ensure that sales, estimating & customer service works closely with all areas of the company to ensure good service to the customer, smooth operations, and strong communication.
    • Consistent polling, interviewing and surveying customers for quality assurance and input into service offerings.
    • Oversee development of tools and communication methods that remove barriers between sales and other departments.
    • Work closely with Operations to create smooth customer integration.
    • Participate in the hand off meeting with Operations and the customer to ensure complete customer satisfaction after set-up.
    • Ensure consistent use by sales team of CRM and other tools for efficiency and effective reporting.
    • Submit to management and measure effectiveness of 30 day forecasts.
  • Continually improve technical and industry knowledge and utilize strong time management and organizational skills.
    • Develop and maintain high level of product, market, technical and industry knowledge.
    • Prioritize and follow through on issues.
    • Successfully forecast sales and pipeline.
    • Coach to create, implement, and achieve territory and account plans.
    • Maintain and update CRM tool daily.
  • Demonstrate ability to work within a team selling environment.
    • Partner with internal functions and customer service to discover new business opportunities.
    • Collaborate with internal resources to develop solutions to customer problems.
    • Adhere to and follow company service implementation guidelines and vision statement.
Education: 4 year degree preferred
Qualifications: 5-6 relevant sales management experience in the print industry
