We are currently seeking Body Shop Technician/ Painter. If you have a strong background in vehicle body repair (automotive or truck), collision, are mechanically inclined, and have a passion for delivering high-quality work, we want to hear from you. - Review each repair order and estimator's notes to understand repairs needed prior to beginning work on the truck.
- Install and repair truck equipment per the manufacturer's technical repair process.
- Complete jobs within established time frames.
- Prepare and paint equipment and components to original specifications.
- Perform all paint blending techniques, use single-stage and clear coat as needed, and perform full equipment refinishes.
- Will be expected to troubleshoot, and problem solve common paint related issues including chipping, cracking, air entrapment, etc.
- Preparation of surface, spray gun operations & related equipment, paint mixing, matching & applying, solving paint problem during the application process, understanding of finish defects, causes, and cures.
- Perform work and maintain 98% return - free work.
- Communicates with the shop foreman or manager if additional parts are needed to finish a repair.
- Informs Body Shop Manager of all customer concerns so they may be handled before the vehicle leaves the shop.
- Develops good relations with customers, adjusters, and insurance companies.
- Maintains a high quality of work.
- Provides proper housekeeping of the Body Shop area and overall shop appearance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills:
- Solid working knowledge of power tools required to perform all phases of truck/chassis repair.
- Good communication in both verbal, written, and listening skills.
- Good customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction.
- Work well independently as well as part of a team.
- Experienced Painter.
- Ability to perform repairs to meet or exceed original factory fit.
- Training in body shop repair and estimating required.
- Training in welding preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
- Must be able to pass mandatory pre-employment drug screen and background check
Education:
- Preferred minimum of High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Additional Information
- Physical: Working in, under, and around trucks and trailers. Ability to lift, push or pull, objects of various shapes, sizes and weights. Safely walk, reach, bend, climb, push, twist, squat and kneel as necessary to perform the essential job duties. Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Environmental: Primarily indoors with some outdoor work. High noise level. Uniforms, ear, and eye protection provided.
