We are seeking a multi-talented individual to fill a blended role that combines administrative support, bookkeeping, and business development. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, thrives in a dynamic environment, and has a passion for organization and growth. You’ll play a key role in keeping our finances on track, assisting with business expansion efforts, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development (40%):
- Support the identification of new business opportunities, such as partnerships with local businesses, community events, or expanded service offerings.
- Assist in creating and distributing marketing materials (e.g., flyers, social media posts) to promote our garden center and landscaping services.
- Conduct market research to identify customer trends and potential growth areas.
- Help maintain relationships with existing clients and follow up on leads to drive sales.
Administrative Assistant (30%):
- Provide general office support, including answering phones, responding to emails, and greeting customers.
- Manage scheduling for staff, client consultations, and project timelines.
- Maintain inventory records for plants, supplies, and equipment, coordinating with suppliers as needed.
- Organize files, handle correspondence, and ensure the office runs efficiently.
Bookkeeping (30%):
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and daily transactions using QuickBooks.
- Reconcile bank statements and prepare monthly financial reports for management review.
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements in a timely manner.
- Assist with tax preparation and compliance in collaboration with external accountants.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, administrative support, or a related field.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software (QuickBooks), Microsoft Office, Google Suite
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer and team interactions.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest or experience in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture is a plus but not required.
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
