**Tax Senior Manager Role**
We are seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join our team in Ronkonkoma, NY. This role will involve managing client engagements from start to finish, supervising and training staff, and maintaining extensive knowledge of accounting rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage client engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects and managing to budget
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance for engagement reviews
- Maintain extensive knowledge of accounting rules and regulations and apply technical knowledge in a practical business manner
- Direct tax seniors and staff accountants
- Interact with clients to discuss issues regarding tax information throughout the year
- Develop technical knowledge through participation in organization meetings, training programs, attending industry events, and participating in research activities
- Identify key client personnel within the organization and begin building a network of relationships
- Be a primary point of contact for clients and regularly interface with senior management
Requirements:
- 7 years' of progressive tax preparation experience
- Advanced knowledge in corporate, international, federal, and state and local tax, as well as a solid background in corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, C Corps, partnerships, and individual/trusts
- Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, partnership returns, and combined state tax returns
- Ability to manage staff on multiple engagements and possess strong leadership skills
- Possesses a strong understanding of clients' industries, businesses, needs, and expectations and discusses areas for improvement in business operations
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent required
- Proficient with computer software packages and platforms including Microsoft Office Suite, Tax software, ProSystems, and CCH
