Job Description
The Maintenance Technician ensures the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. This includes following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. The technician will also troubleshoot malfunctions and perform mechanic skills, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess attention to detail and good organizational skills. They must also be able to adapt effectively within a continually changing and demanding environment. Basic understanding of equipment operations and minor troubleshooting ability are necessary. In addition, candidates should be able to communicate effectively to maintain high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency. They must also be able to read and comprehend standard operating procedures and company guidelines to maintain regulatory compliance. Ability to obtain licenses for and operate powered industrial equipment at a safe level is required. Knowledge of HMI (Human/Machine Interface) systems and basic understanding of 120/240VAC electrical systems and low voltage DC and control wiring are also necessary. Candidates must be able to climb ladders and work from heights. Performing operational maintenance duties such as painting, lubrication, minor piping repairs, valve, and pump repair are essential responsibilities.
Education and Experience
Candidates should have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Industrial, construction, and/or mechanical experience is preferred.
