Our client is seeking a Software Release Manager for their Cincinnati, OH location. This Manager will assume a critical role in overseeing software projects related to their new system initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include managing project customizations and timelines, assisting with product documentation, and leading daily scrum meetings.
The ideal candidate will be instrumental in facilitating project launches on a global scale, ensuring adherence to project timelines, and maintaining comprehensive product documentation. Collaboration with the product manager to define features and tasks essential for team execution will be paramount. Additionally, you'll collaborate with Product Managers, Implementation Engineers, and QA Engineers to facilitate successful product releases.
Job Purpose
- Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project success and develop mitigation strategies
- Assist in product release by writing documentation and release notes
- Communicate with daily standup meetings and ensure deliverables and product roadmap is tracking with the product manager
- Report to stakeholders regular updates on project and product status as well as budget summaries
- Answer / support any region technical questions as it relates to the release
- Answer / support any dev and QA questions as it relates to the release
- Develop and maintain the release project plan at a detailed level to ensure accurate status capture and forecasting
- Develop and update necessary documentation for a successful release to the region
- Participate and oversee testing quality, manage the upgradability of the release as well
- Partner with the product managers and regions to outline functionality per release
- Lead trainings with the regions on the next upcoming release
- Regular meetings with the regions on deployment (new and upgrade) feedback and improvements that need to be made to the product
Job Requirements
Training/Education:
- Business or technical degree in software engineering or a similar field is preferred
Professional Experience:
- Proven experience in software project management, preferably in Agile environments
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Microsoft Project
- PMP, ScrumMaster, or other relevant certifications are a plus
- Strong understanding of Warehouse Execution/Management Systems and supply chain processes
