Position Description:
The Director of Federal Programs and Strategic Growth is responsible for leading and expanding the organization's federal government programs, driving business growth, and ensuring compliance with federal contracting requirements. This role requires a strategic leader with expertise in federal acquisition, program management, and business development to enhance the company's presence in the federal sector.
Key Responsibilities
Federal Business Development & Strategic Growth
- Develop and execute a growth strategy for federal government contracts, identifying new opportunities within DoD, civilian agencies, and intelligence sectors.
- Build and maintain relationships with key federal agencies, contracting officers, and industry partners.
- Lead proposal development efforts, including capture management, RFP analysis, and strategic teaming.
- Identify and pursue Small Business Set-Asides, IDIQ, GWAC, and BPA opportunities to expand the company's contract portfolio.
- Conduct market research to align business offerings with federal agency priorities.
Program Management & Execution
- Oversee the performance and compliance of existing federal contracts, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute programs efficiently while maintaining profitability and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific guidelines.
- Monitor contract modifications, funding changes, and deliverables to mitigate risks and optimize execution.
Strategic Partnerships & Industry Engagement
- Establish and maintain relationships with prime contractors, subcontractors, and government stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, networking events, and government contracting forums.
- Develop teaming agreements and joint ventures to enhance the company's competitive positioning.
Financial & Compliance Oversight
- Work closely with finance and legal teams to manage pricing strategies, budgets, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with CMMC, NIST 800-171, ITAR, and other federal security requirements as applicable.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for revenue growth, contract performance, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- 15 years of experience in federal business development, government contracting, or program management.
- Proven track record of winning and managing federal contracts valued at $10M .
- Strong understanding of FAR, DFARS, GSA schedules, and federal procurement processes.
- Experience with federal capture strategies, proposal development, and contract negotiations.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive results.
- Active DoD Security Clearance.
- Project Management Certification.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM or Business Administration area of study.
Desired:
- Master's degree in a STEM or Business Administration area of study.
- Prior government service.
- Existing relationships with Missile Defense community.
