Job Summary/Description:
WCAX-TV is searching for a meteorologist to join our First Alert weather team. The right candidate will have a dynamic on-air personality, exceptional forecasting and graphic design skills, and mastery of the latest technology.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing clear, engaging, and impactful weather reports for all platforms, including broadcast, streaming, and social media
- Presenting live in the studio on weekdays at 5:30 and 11:00 p.m.
- Presenting in the field during high-impact weather and community events
- Responding urgently to breaking and severe weather on all platforms
- Delivering on the First Alert promise to prepare viewers for changes in the weather
- Creating impact-driven weather graphics that help viewers plan their day
- Working collaboratively with a team of meteorologists
- Taking part in promotional activities and public appearances
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Two years of experience or more preferred
- Meteorology degree and seals preferred
- Strong computer skills and experience with The Weather Company systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills
- Strong leadership qualities and self-motivation
- A valid Driver's License with a good driving record
