What are the responsibilities and job description for the Washer/Fueler position at Grays Harbor Transit (WA)?

Position reports to: Maintenance Manager and/or Maintenance SupervisorManage or Supervise: NoneFLSA Status: Exempt Union: Represented This position is a union bargaining position, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, and/or Lead Mechanic (dependent on shift), performs routine work cleaning and servicing Grays Harbor Transit vehicles, equipment, and facilities. The Washer/Fueler performs routine servicing including, but not limited to, maintaining diesel, gas, oil, water, and lubrication levels, and performs general custodial duties on transit buses and vehicles, equipment, and facilities. The Washer/Fueler may assist a mechanic in making minor mechanical repairs or may make repairs independently as instructed by mechanic. Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Fill fuel tanks, check oil water levels, check transmission levels, and drains air tanks.Washes and disinfects vehicles inside and out, and checks both interior and exterior for vehicle damage or vandalism; cleans shop and other GHT facilities as required. Reports any abnormal vehicle condition such as excessive use of oil, water, transmission fluid, air leaks, hard steering, uneven braking, and checks tire condition and wear. Keep records of oil and fuel dispensed and vehicle damage. Performs other light mechanical repair such as replace light bulbs, lenses, and mirrors.Other duties as assigned.

Working ConditionsPosition may require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, repetitive motions, and carrying.
