What are the responsibilities and job description for the Juvenile Probation Officer position at Grayson County Department of Juvenile Services?
Duties:
Works independently and is responsible for daily supervision and guidance of youth who are primarily in the community and have (or have been alleged to) broken the law. Works in a team atmosphere and supports colleagues as well. Duties may include: receiving, reviewing, and evaluating referrals. The officer determines appropriate case actions through the assessment and interview process. Prepares reports for presentation to the Court. Provide case management. Develops case plans. Counsels and assists juveniles and families. Act as a community liaison for community agencies and resources.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field. Experience working with delinquent youth helpful; but, not required.
Requirements: Must be 21 years of age. Must pass background check and drug screen. Have a valid Texas or Oklahoma driver's license. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and holidays.
