Production Worker

Production and Packaging Team Member (First Shift Available)

Looking for team members to work in a fast-paced production and packaging environment making beef sticks and beef jerky. Yes, that is right, beef jerky. In this role, the team member may be required to do the following tasks:

• Running production or packaging equipment (training will be provided)
• Feeding production or packaging lines (training will be provided)
• Working around sharp objects
• Measuring and mixing ingredients
• Lifting boxes and materials
• Cleaning/Sanitation

Some additional skills and qualifications required include:

• Knowledge of food safety preferred, but not required (training will be provided)
• Ability to follow good manufacturing practices
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time during shift
• Ability to lift boxes
• Ability to work in lower temperature environments
• Ability to monitor product quality

Compensation includes health insurance, strong 401(k) plan, and paid vacation.

About Grayson Natural Farms

Grayson Natural Farms is located in the rolling foothills of Southwest Virginia among the highest peaks in the state and the second oldest river in the world – it’s a great place to live and raise a family. This is where our founder, Charlotte Hanes, decided to build her family farm. Today, that farm is over 1,500 acres positioned along the New River.

Understanding the value of land, Charlotte has placed most of hers under conservation. You will often hear Charlotte talk about sustainability and has said, on many occasions, that “the word sustainability has been thrown around so much and misused. Sustainability means that you can reproduce something without taking away any of its present value... and keep it going. Just, keep it going... don't use it up.”

With this in mind, Charlotte’s vision for starting Grayson Natural Farms was to establish a business model to help support local farms and to ensure sustainability for the surrounding community for years to come. Five years ago, Grayson Natural built a new state-of-the-art meat processing facility and launched the Landcrafted Food brand, a 100% US grass-fed beef stick that is lean, high in protein, crafted from whole cuts of beef, and contains no antibiotics or hormones. Today the company has multiple brands, makes a premium line of beef jerky, and provides private label for some of the world’s most recognizable brands. The Company is also doubling the size of its current production facility and growing. We are now looking for talent to join our team and our family.

On weekends, we often drive to the top of Whitetop Mountain Road, soaring 5,520 feet and the highest peak in Virginia accessible by car, or cruise either the Mt. Rogers Scenic Byway or the Blue Ridge Parkway. And, if you love music, there is nothing more fun than the Crooked Road Music Trail that goes right through Grayson County.

While we are in a small town, we are close to large cities like Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Boone, North Carolina.
