Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our catering operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position involves assisting with food preparation, service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hospitality in a fast-paced environment. It will be required to travel (occasionally on your own) to set up catering Grazing Tables (Charcuterie) and also work with a team. The goal is that this person grows into the Management position and takes over the Catering position as a whole - booking, advertising, vendor trips, executing, etc. If you have a passion for the food industry and enjoy working in a team-oriented atmosphere, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items for events and banquets.
- Help set up catering events and serving stations.
- Build Grazing Charcuterie Tables.
- Serve food and beverages to guests while ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
- Follow all food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of guests.
- Ensure timely service and quality control.
- Support the team during events by assisting with any additional tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is REQUIRED.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with guests.
- Experience in fine dining or banquet settings is a plus.
- Must be able to lift heavy items (up to 40 pounds) as necessary during events.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
