Position Summary:
Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) is looking for a motivated professional to join our team as an Application Support Analyst. The Application Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of software applications within the organization. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues related to applications, providing timely and effective solutions to users. The role involves working closely with end-users, IT teams, and vendors to support the full lifecycle of applications, from initial implementation to ongoing updates and enhancements.
Essential Duties:
- Provide day-to-day application support, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and user assistance.
- Monitor application performance and respond to issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify, test, and implement software fixes and updates.
- Manage user permissions, profiles, and access control within applications.
- Assist with the deployment and configuration of new software releases and updates.
- Provide training and support to end-users to improve application adoption and usage.
- Track and report on application support incidents and service requests.
- Communicate with users to understand issues and provide appropriate solutions or escalations.
- Prepare reports on application performance and issue trends for management.
- Develop and maintain application documentation, including user guides and troubleshooting manuals.
- Partner with vendors and third-party providers to resolve application issues.
- Regularly monitor the performance of applications to identify areas for improvement.
- Perform system checks and testing to detect issues before they affect users.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualities:
- General understanding of software applications, systems, and databases.
- Familiarity with operating systems and application management tools.
- Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with software deployment processes and systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience using IT service management systems such as ServiceNow or Jira.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in application support or IT support roles required.
Certificates, Registrations, Licenses:
- Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, or the ability to convert within 30 days for those with an out of state driver’s license that are an Oklahoma resident.
Physical/Mental Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office setting with some travel to other Grand River Dam locations.
- Business-related travel may be required for training purposes and miscellaneous meetings.
Other Information:
- Position is located at the Engineering & Technology Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
