Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Inventory and Supply Chain with extensive experience in the automotive parts industry, preferably within the aftermarket segment. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our supply chain operations, including inventory control, supplier management, demand forecasting, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will possess deep industry knowledge, a track record of leadership, and a strategic mindset to drive efficiency and ensure a consistent flow of quality products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Develop and execute inventory strategies that ensure optimal stock levels and minimize obsolescence.
- Monitor and analyze inventory performance metrics, adjusting plans as needed to meet customer demand and financial objectives.
- Collaborate with Operations and Marketing to accurately forecast demand and align inventory plans accordingly.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with automotive parts suppliers, including aftermarket vendors, to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Partner with the Vendor Management team to negotiate contracts, establish supplier performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement in supplier relationships.
- Monitor market trends and adjust sourcing strategies to stay competitive and aligned with industry shifts.
Finance Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Finance department to ensure seamless integration between inventory data and financial reporting.
- Establish clear processes and guidelines for the accurate receiving and counting of inventory. Leads the monthly inventory process in partnership with Operations.
- Collaborate on developing procedures that maintain proper inventory flow while ensuring financial accountability.
- Monitor inventory valuation and maintain accurate records that align with accounting standards.
- Partner with finance team members to identify and rectify any discrepancies between physical inventory counts and financial records.
- Contribute to financial forecasting and budgeting efforts by providing reliable inventory data and trend analyses.
- Support month-end and year-end inventory audits and financial reconciliations.
Process Optimization and Efficiency:
- Identify and implement process improvements across the supply chain, from procurement to distribution, to reduce lead times and costs.
- Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance forecasting accuracy and streamline operations.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential supply disruptions and ensure business continuity.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Identify, lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team, ensuring alignment with company goals, meeting defined expectations and fostering a culture of accountability.
- Build cross-functional relationship to ensure collaboration closely with other departments to align supply chain activities with broader organizational initiatives and goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or inventory management roles within the automotive parts industry, preferably in the aftermarket sector.
- Strong understanding of automotive parts supply chains, industry regulations, and market trends.
- Proven leadership experience, including the ability to manage teams, drive change, and deliver measurable results.
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management systems, ERP platforms, and data analysis tools.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- APICS or other relevant supply chain certifications are a plus.
- Salary: $100-120k

Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
