GREAT BASIN INSTITUTE is hiring a highly motivated Field Technician for Wildlife Studies to support conservation and research efforts in the southern Sierra Nevada region. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biology, ecology, or natural resource management, with experience in standard field methods for wildlife surveys and habitat characterization.
This 10-hour day, 4-day week position will require flexibility and willingness to work variable schedules, including nights and weekends. The technician will be responsible for conducting surveys for various species, collecting and analyzing data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- The selected candidate will lead crews in the field and have experience with GPS navigation, map reading, and data entry.
- They will also be responsible for maintaining datasheets and organizing photos for species verification and long-term storage.
