Position Overview
The NICU Nurse Manager provides comprehensive oversight of our NICU operations, ensuring exceptional patient care while leading a talented team of healthcare professionals. This role reports directly to the Nursing Director of Women, Infants and Children.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 operational leadership and clinical oversight of the NICU department
- Supervise and mentor Clinical Managers, Resource Nurses, and ancillary staff
- Ensure compliance with Title 22, TJC, CDPH, and CCS regulatory requirements
- Manage departmental productivity, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Collaborate closely with NICU Medical Director and Director of Nursing
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and maintain clinical excellence
- Oversee staff development, training, and performance evaluations
- Monitor patient satisfaction and implement improvement strategies
Required Qualifications
- Current California RN license
- BSN required (candidates completing degree will be considered)
- 5 years NICU experience, including 3 years full-time clinical experience
- Current NRP and BLS certifications
- NICU certification from NCC or equivalent organization
- Demonstrated leadership and clinical expertise in neonatal care
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- NRP Instructor Certification
- Critical Care Transport Experience
