Purpose
Create consistently excellent sweets by making product with precision and mastery. Phenomenal sweets is the core of our business and this position is critical in that endeavor. This position establishes and maintains the sweets product production pace by beginning and completing sweets production on a strict time schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily in addition to meeting and maintaining the minimum qualifications that are representative of the baseline knowledge, skill, and ability required.
1. Exhibits job and product knowledge sufficient to make sweets according to established recipes, yet intuitive enough to compensate for fluctuating variables so that optimum quality is achieved for every batch.
2. Exhibits the ability to maintain and document established production records accurately and completely on a daily basis.
3. Exhibits energy sufficient to maintain a continuous high-level of productivity and enthusiasm while on duty and possesses the stamina to work the early morning shift required for this position to meet appropriate production schedules.
4. Exhibits stress tolerance sufficient to perform duties with a positive attitude, even when faced with difficult or unusual pressures or circumstances.
5. Exhibits organizational skills sufficient to ensure that ssweets are completed with accuracy and according to time schedules, without slowing down the production flow.

Examples of Duties
· Develop and maintain an intuitive sense of bread making through a strict attention to detail following proprietary Great Harvest practices and procedures.
· Maintain cross-training in all baker positions and to assist those bakers when time allows between sweets production.
· Ensures that all sweets have ingredients according to established Great Harvest recipes and have been mixed properly following proprietary Great Harvest practices and procedures.
· Uses measuring devices, thermometers, mixer, product knowledge and intuitive judgement to prepare doughs according to Great Harvest’s standards of quality and consistency.
· Develop a “single bite” attitude about sweets work recognizing that every customer judges the entire business on the product he or she is eating.
· Adapting and adjusting appropriately for fluctuating variables to ensure consistency.
· Washes used equipment and utensils from baking production and keeps dishes from getting backed up.
· Follows all company policies and procedures.
· Completes all tasks and cleaning assignments and documents completion on appropriate forms.
· Maintains first in, first out (FIFO) inventory practices and appropriately documents low inventory for ordering purposes.
· Participates in regular inventory counts and performs ordering as assigned.
· Works to identify process improvement opportunities to ensure the bakery is operating as efficiently as possible.
· Consistently follows and strives to meet all food safety and equipment safety practices dictated by policy and state or federal regulation.
· Performs other job-related duties as assigned and takes initiative to enhance the bakery’s quality and consistency.
· Remains available for extra hours during the holiday seasons as needed (Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas at a minimum).
Minimum Qualifications
1. Must be 18 years of age.
2. Must be dependable and work all scheduled shifts.
3. Must be available to work early morning shifts (4:00 am).
4. Must exhibit high standards of personal and facility cleanliness.
5. Must be able to lift and carry loads of 60 pounds and perform other physically strenuous mixing tasks throughout the production shift.
6. Must be able to remain standing throughout an entire 8 hour shift.
7. Must be able to work in a warm environment.
8. Must be consistently on time, maintain a positive attitude, maintain a positive working relationship with owners and fellow co-workers, work efficiently, and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Experience
Stable work history required. Bakery experience preferred, but not required as position will receive on-the-job training.
