Purpose
To provide excellence in customer service by consistently serving each customer with a smile, getting to know each customer well, and being able to sell them phenomenal Great Harvest products and other retail items with knowledge, ease, and belief in the products offered. Maintains a fast pace through the counter sales and customer interaction process to ensure they are provided with the products they are seeking, or a suitable alternative, in a timely and efficient manner. Helps develop and maintain a community- and family-oriented atmosphere through personable and friendly service while maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting café service area.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty of the customer service position satisfactorily in addition to meeting and maintaining the minimum qualifications that are representative of the baseline knowledge, skill, and ability required.
1. Exhibits job and product knowledge sufficient to promote and answer questions regarding all products and merchandise offered for sale to the customer.
2. Exhibits energy sufficient to maintain a continuous high-level of productivity and enthusiasm while on duty and possesses the stamina to work the shifts assigned.
3. Exhibits stress tolerance sufficient to perform duties with a positive attitude, even when faced with difficult or unusual pressures or circumstances.
4. Exhibits organizational skills sufficient to ensure that each customer is served within required timeframes, orders are organized and filled each day, breads are shelved and labeled with accuracy, sales area and café are kept clean and uncluttered without slowing down the production flow.

Examples of Duties
· Approach all aspects of job with the following priorities in mind:
o Customers always come first! They must be acknowledged and served with a sense of urgency. All customers are greeted with a smile and in a friendly manner within three (3) seconds of entering the store.
o Customer, retail, and sales areas must be kept neat and clean.
o Implement and follow all food safety and food handling procedures required by the Idaho food code.
o Tasks must be completed for every shift per the assigned shift task list and daily cleaning list, all task and cleaning checklists are to be completed per bakery procedures.
· Serve customers in a patient, cheerful way that reflects out top-notch customer service standards.
· Prioritize all tasks with product quality and presentation as the top priority, and the condition of the bakery café with our community- and family-oriented gathering place standards.
· Handle all point of sale transactions with 100% accuracy! Handle all cash transactions according to policy. Be efficient and proficient in all aspects of point of sale operations.
· Only operate the point of sale system under your assigned login and do not provide other employees with your login information.
· Handle all products and merchandise with care.
· Work efficiently, quickly, safely, and remember to have fun and be loose!
· Answer phones in a way that is consistent with our standards of customer service using a friendly, helpful, and cheerful voice.
· Develop a sharp sense of product knowledge using assigned materials and training sessions to be able to satisfactorily answer customers’ questions.
· Take special orders promptly, accurately, and ensure they are organized and filed appropriately by due date.
· Make every effort to offer our customers service above and beyond the call of duty – before we open, after we close, help to their car, curbside pickups, etc. – to establish our stores as top-notch in customer service.
· Help out with preparing catering orders, winning hearts projects, or other special orders or events as requested.
- Washes used equipment and utensils from the front-of-house production and keeps dishes from getting backed up.
- Stock all necessary customer service supplies as needed throughout your shift and at the end of your shift using first in, first out (FIFO) procedures.
- Maintains first in, first out (FIFO) inventory practices and appropriately documents low inventory for ordering purposes.
· Follows all company policies and procedures.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned and takes initiative to enhance the bakery’s quality and consistency.
· Remains available for extra hours during the holiday seasons as needed (Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas at a minimum).
Minimum Qualifications
1. Must be 18 years of age.
2. Must be dependable and work all scheduled shifts for the primary shift listed in the original job announcement.
3. Must exhibit high standards of personal and facility cleanliness.
4. Must be able to perform strenuous tasks throughout the customer service shift.
5. Must be able to smile all day, every day, have fun and stay loose!
6. Must be able to remain standing throughout an entire shift (up to 8 hours).
7. Must be consistently on time, maintain a positive attitude, maintain a positive working relationship with owners and fellow co-workers, work efficiently, and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Experience
Stable work history required. Customer service and bakery experience preferred, but not required. Position will receive on-the-job training.
