The Branch Manager is responsible for managing and directing the business activities of the branch staff. Demonstrates and reinforces a sense of urgency and commitment to providing excellent products and services to members in fulfillment of GLCU’s corporate goals. The Branch Manager is responsible for developing staff to enhance accuracy, timeliness, sales & service within the branch. Also responsible for maintaining a work environment conducive to teamwork with a high level of performance and productivity, which includes demonstrating and encouraging positive working relationships among departments and other credit union employees. Supports the Standards of Greatness and maintains positive working relationships by supporting the GLCU Standards of Greatness.
As a Branch Manager you will:
- Performs with a high level of operational knowledge, is comfortable in the day-to-day operations, is experienced in their current position, and is a “go to” person for their peers and other departments.
- Directs operations and sales of the branch and supports and promotes a sales and service-driven culture.
- Achieves defined GLCU and branch goals.
- Coach and develop team members to achieve defined GLCU and branch goals.
- Ensures that internal procedures are understood, followed, and referenced when necessary.
- Ensures that Sr. Management is informed of problematic situations in a timely manner.
- Ensures the branch opens for daily operations and is balanced and secured each business day.
- Ensures security and maintenance of Branch assets including property, equipment, records, cash, and negotiable instruments, and maintains accurate records.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment in interpreting policies and procedures, making exceptions as required. Resolve member complaints, tactfully explaining specific policies and procedures.
- Participates in community/networking activities, e.g., chamber of commerce and other local community organizations.
- Holds periodic team meetings, daily huddles, and one-on-ones with assigned personnel to deliver recognition for successes, discuss areas needing improvement, communicate changes in procedures, provide direction, and present general information.
- Maintains favorable relations with internal departments and outside vendors.
- Complies with federal and state regulations and internal controls and expectations in compliance with GLCU’s policies and procedures.
- Performs duties of a Member Specialist as required.
- Participates on project teams as necessary.
- Participates in planning, developing, and implementing training sessions.
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations, and following all GLCU policies, procedures and internal controls.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements needed to be part of this team:
- Min 1 year tenure as an Assistant Branch Manager strongly preferred,
- Proficient in all the Retail areas of responsibility,
- Completion of the Leadership training program.
- Management experience as an Assistant Manager, Branch Manager of a financial institution, or a retail/food services manager.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A passion for helping and supporting others.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient with computer applications and systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to multi-task and handle sensitive financial information.
