The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Financial Reporting Analyst performs various analyses and maintains reporting templates. The position is located in the energy corridor in Houston, TX. The Financial Reporting Analyst has responsibility for preparing the company’s periodic SEC filings (Form 10-K, 10-Q and other SEC filings), internal financial reporting packages, accounting for leases and working with the company’s external financial auditors. The position requires an understanding of regulatory filing requirements, accuracy and timeliness in completion of deliverables and an application of knowledge to the company’s financial statements, footnote disclosures, MD&A and other areas of Financial Reporting. This is a hybrid work schedule with four days in the office and one day remote. Travel could be required 5%-10%.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare periodic SEC filings (Form 10-K, 10-Q and other SEC filings) including schedules and supporting documentation
- Compile monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting packages
- Coordinate data requests and analysis with internal and external auditors
- Work closely with Investor Relations, Accounting, FP&A, and senior management in the preparation and tie-out of supporting materials for investor meetings and presentations for Board of Directors’ meetings
- Prepare monthly Statement of Cash Flow
- Prepare monthly journal entries and analyses related to leases and share-based compensation
- Assist in other technical accounting areas that may include, but are not limited to, revenue recognition, stock compensation, EPS, leases, and asset retirement obligations
- Research and resolve inquiries for the accounting department and senior management
- Routine communication with supervisors relating to SEC filings, financial close, issues and deliverables
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting. Public accounting experience, desirable
- CPA or parts passed, desirable
- A minimum of 3-4 years of related experience
- 10Q/10K experience highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organization, and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage competing priorities
- Demonstrate understanding of accounting processes, procedures and internal controls
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and proficiency in PowerPoint and Word, required
- Power BI or similar dashboarding tool experience, desirable
