Great Lakes Motor Products is privately owned and operated with over 80 years of experience manufacturing motors. We manufacture the shaded 4- and 2-pole 3.3″ concentric, fractional horsepower, A.C. electric motors and air moving assemblies. This reliable model has performed with continued success for decades, being used in equipment for the HVAC industry, commercial kitchen equipment, medical equipment, recreational products and many other commercial and residential applications.
Serving a demand for American made electric motors and air moving assemblies, Great Lakes Motor Products sources over 90% of parts from U.S. based suppliers. We manufacture and assemble our products in the heart of America’s Midwest – Traverse City, Michigan.
We are looking for driven individuals who are mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and detail oriented to join our production team. Manufacturing experience is preferred.
Title: Shop Manager
Schedule:
Full- time
Monday – Friday
Occasional Saturdays (as needed)
7am – 3:30pm
** Heating season October- March may require slightly extended hours during the week & weekend**
Starting rate: $
40 hours/week
Overtime offered at time and a half.

Skills:
· Managerial (2 years preferred)
· Microsoft excel, outlook, word (1 year preferred)
· Valid Drivers license.
· Training of employees
· Scheduling
· Must be able to communicate and handle confrontations professionally.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Managing monthly production schedules
· Manage production flow.
· Preview work assignments and conduct post work critiques.
· Checking and maintaining materials.
· Assist with reviewing and interviewing candidates.
· Assist with production.
· Assist with machine maintenance and repairs.
· Work with engineering on new products.
· Oversight of annual Inventory.
· Help establish and maintain efficient work procedures.

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
