Summary
The Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains tools and other equipment associated with installations; performs required routine preventative and predictive maintenance and other related work in Field services, Water and Wastewater Plant operationsJob Responsibilities
- Maintain electrical distribution, pumping, mechanical and chemical equipment.
- Rebuild and dismantle pumps. Complete repairs of heavy equipment and machinery.
- Perform alignments of equipment.
- Complete valve repairs.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance. Perform rigging, welding, cutting, machinery alignment.
- Complete predictive and preventative maintenance. Perform machinery alignment with pumps and motors.
- Perform plumbing and pipe fitting. Perform shift work which includes all day, afternoon, night, weekend and holiday assignments.
- Must possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License and the ability to drive a motor vehicle on all terrain.
- Provide on the job training
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Michigan F4 license within two (2) years of Level 1 designation
Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, work in confined spaces, elevated locations and descend underground, lift a minimum of 50 pounds, walk, stand, or work for long periods of time, demonstrate normal color perception, hear audible alarms and detect abnormal equipment sounds; visually inspect equipment and processes at any time of the day or night, pass bio-mechanical physical, vision, baseline physical and annual fit tests, wear respiratory protection and other personal protective equipment; perform a variety of laboring tasks involving carrying, stacking, digging, shoveling, hitting, pushing, pulling and other efforts requiring considerable physical strength and stamina.
Environmental Working Requirements:
Work is performed in the field or plant environment. Work may be performed in confined spaces, hazardous areas that require respiratory protection and personal protective equipment (PPE), and under slippery and wet conditions.
